HydroWick by AmeriTees® Technical Information

   Wearing polyester in hot weather has never been comfortable until now. The AmeriTees® 9601 classic tee combines the cut and style of traditional t-shirts with the durability of synthetic fabrics and the latest in moisture management technology – HydroWick.
   HydroWick is a single component chemical system that allows polyester fabric to draw perspiration from the skin to the outside of the shirt so it can evaporate. This wicking action leaves the wearer cool and comfortable, even in demanding conditions.

How It Works

   Synthetic fibers, like polyester, typically resist fluid transfer. In hot, demanding environments, polyester shirts trap perspiration and make the wearer uncomfortably "sticky." This is the reason people who work outdoors or in hot conditions shy away from polyester shirts and fabrics. HydroWick changes all of that. The unique, proprietary polymeric compound that is HydroWick "grafts" itself to the polyester fibers and renders them less resistant to moisture transfer. In yarns, which have good linear orientation, moisture is wicked away from the skin along the minute channels between fibers.
   HydroWick treated polyester fabrics rapidly and systematically wick fluids away from high-moisture areas. The dramatic and rapid multi-directional increase in liquid surface area results in rapid drying of the 9601 HydroWick by AmeriTees® shirts and enhances comfort to the wearer.

The durability of HydroWick surpasses all other known chemicals with wicking properties. The 9601 HydroWick Tee by AmeriTees® has been tested up to 100 washes without any loss of wicking properties or capabilities. In most cases the HydroWick treatment lasts for the life of the shirt.
   Treated with HydroWick, the 9601 also exhibits excellent soil release properties and little or no water spotting characteristics. This makes cleaning easy.
   With built-in softening compounds, the HydroWick Tee by AmeriTees® has a slick, buttery soft hand. These polyester shirts have a soft, cotton-like feel.
